Design Development (Pre-Design)

Automatic Fire Sprinklers, Inc. /AFS is able to work with the development team during the design development phase to insure the most economical design parameters possible.

 

We are able to draft Alternate Means and Methods mitigation measures when your project does not comply with code requirements (building height, fire department access, type of construction variations, water curtains, enhanced fire sprinkler systems, etc.) What separates AFS from other consultants, is that we provide alternatives you can afford and still provide sound fire protection. The pace of building today requires experience, connections, knowledge and resources to get it done right!

Public Works Consulting


We have strong, long-standing relationships with many building and fire departments. This provides our clients with the unique advantage of having trained professionals who can set up and attend meetings directly to address code and/or other items that may arise.

Trade Specific Consulting


We work together with your architect and consultants to identify conflicts, coordinate systems layout, ensure that your system meets all applicable codes and advise you of possible value engineering options. We provide input and layouts for the on-site underground water supply, backflow requirements, fire department connections, and other city specific water supply requirements.

 

As leaders in fire sprinkler design, we are a trusted resource for fire departments, architects, developers, general contractors and trade consultants whenever accurate and up-to-date information on fire protection systems is needed.

Design


Our engineering department is comprised of well-educated, knowledgeable, Nicet certified designers and experienced CAD personnel. AFS is well-known industry-wide for providing comprehensive fire sprinkler system designs. Our engineering staff is trained to create the most cost efficient design possible, providing sound hydraulic calculations and aesthetically pleasing layouts while keeping life safety paramount.
